3. ?Target the lazy executives and middle managers. Do the job they are paid for as a consultant. Be good, and politically savvy, and the money is yours?

4. ?You?ll make more money in selling food or opening a restaurant than working for the Bank?

5. ?You can?t avoid politics, but learn to think like the people your are talking with. Always finish your sentence with something like ?the most important is the country?s development, not power. We all have to work in that direction?

6. ?It?s about hard work and passion, but you should first forget about managing time like in Europe.

Take time to visit people, go to the vanity parties, have the patience to let stupid people finish their long empty sentences, and make the politicians understand that your project could make them win elections and strengthen their positions?

7. ?Speed is everything. Think fast, Act fast, Be everywhere through friends, family and informants?

All these? look very machiavellian to me, but who said business was something for the faint hearts!

Sharapova beats Errani in Key Biscayne quarters

KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. (AP) ? Four-time runner-up Maria Sharapova has overcome an uneven performance at the Sony Open to reach the semifinals by beating Sara Errani 7-5, 7-5.

Sharapova had 57 unforced errors, including 13 double-faults, and had to erase three set points in the second set Wednesday.

The third-seeded Sharapova will play Thursday against the winner of the quarterfinal Wednesday night between No. 15-seeded Roberta Vinci and No. 22 Jelena Jankovic. Errani, seeded No. 8, fell to 0-26 against opponents ranked in the top five.

Sharapova completed a career Grand Slam last year but has never won Key Biscayne. She lost in the final in 2005, '06, '11 and '12.

She's bidding to become the third woman to win Indian Wells and Key Biscayne in the same year, joining Steffi Graf and Kim Clijsters.

Mandela hospitalized again, South Africa leader asks world to pray for him

The 94-year-old former South African president has been admitted with a recurrence of the lung infection he suffered in December. NBC's Rohit Kochroo reports.

Nelson Mandela suffered a recurrence of his lung infection and was taken to a hospital late Wednesday.

In a statement, the current South African President Jacob Zuma said, ?We appeal to the people of South Africa and the world to pray for our beloved Madiba [a nickname for Mandela] and his family and to keep them in their thoughts.?

?We have full confidence in the medical team and know that they will do everything possible to ensure recovery,? he added. ?The Presidency appeals once again for understanding and privacy in order to allow space to the doctors to do their work.?

Mandela, 94, was taken to a hospital just before midnight local time (6 p.m. ET).

The statement said that Mandela had the ?best possible expert in medical treatment and comfort.?

Mandela has a history of lung problems dating back to when he contracted tuberculosis as a political prisoner in the notorious Robben Island jail under the apartheid regime.?

The South African president?s office issued another statement later Thursday saying that Mandela was ?responding positively to the treatment.?

?During these trying times we wish President Mandela well and for his family to be strong," he added.

Mandela spent nearly three weeks in a hospital in December for treatment of a lung infection and gallstone surgery.

This was the longest time he had been hospitalized since being released from captivity as a political prisoner in 1990.

He was also hospitalized earlier this month for what was described as a "scheduled medical checkup."

Mandela was president of South Africa from 1994 to 1999, the first president of the country to be elected following the fall of the apartheid system.

Apple posts job listings for Maps Ground Truth managers

Apple is increasing its efforts to improve Maps around the world, having recently posted open positions for Maps Ground Truth managers in seven countries. Previously, Apple had only been hiring for these positions in Australia. Among other dutites, managers are expected to be able to do things like provide feedback for their area to enhance maps, according to Apple?s job postings.

• Testing new releases of map code and data around the U.S.
• Collecting ground truth data to allow for analysis of the impact of potential map code or data changes relative to known truth
• Utilizing local expertise to provide feedback about U.S.-specific mapping details
• Evaluating competing products in-region relative to our maps

Ground truth refers to collecting mapping data locally rather than by satellite imagery or other remote means. We heard about Apple retail employees being asked to help improve Maps back in October. This, however, points to teams of people dedicated to mapping improvements.

Apple has been steadily improving Maps since the launch of iOS 6 in September of last year. Enhancements to Flyover, 3D buildings, and turn-by-turn navigation have been made to locations around the world. There is still a long way to go, but there is no doubt that Apple is working hard to make Maps the product that everyone expected it to be and that their customers deserve.

Film academy sets Oscar dates for 2014, 2015

LOS ANGELES (AP) ? Film fans can already mark their calendars for the Academy Awards in 2014 and 2015.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Monday that next year's Oscar ceremony will be held March 2. The 2015 trophies will be handed out Feb. 22.

Awards shows, including the Oscars, are juggling their calendars to avoid overlap with the 2014 Winter Olympics, which will be held Feb. 7-23 in Sochi, Russia.

The Screen Actors Guild and the Producers Guild of America each pushed up their 2014 awards ceremonies to the weekend of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, on Jan. 18 and 19, respectively.

The Directors Guild will present its annual awards on Jan. 25, 2014. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has yet to announce when its Golden Globe Awards ceremony will be held.

Nominations for the 86th annual Academy Awards will be announced Jan. 16, 2014, more than six weeks before the ceremony.

The Academy Awards in both 2014 and 2015 will be presented at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and broadcast live on ABC.

Sony Xperia Z was announced back at CES in January and its popularity grows bigger by the day. We have already had the Sony Xperia Z for quite a while in our office and its in-depth review is over here but once the MWC wrapped up we were also able to complete its battery test.

Unfortunately, the Sony Xperia Z wasn?t quite as impressive when it came to video playback endurance. With the 5? 1080p LCD coming into play the battery lost 90% of its charge in just 5 hours and 39 minutes. It?s still enough to watch two full movies in one go, but it?s one of the worst performances we have seen here nonetheless. We ran the test with Mobile BRAVIA 2 turned on as we believed that?s how most users will be using their smartphones, but even when we switched it off we didn?t notice any big difference in the Xperia Z battery life.

The Sony Xperia Z managed to climb up the ranks in the web browser test. It lasted for almost an hour longer compared to the video playback chapter as, unlike the AMOLED screens out there, its LCD screen consumes no extra power to display the predominantly white web pages. 6 hours and 37 minutes still isn?t something to write home about, but it?s still a decent achievement and better than the Oppo Find 5 and HTC Butterfly, which are the other two 1080p 5-inchers we have tested.

As you would expect from with an ample battery like that, the stand-by performance of the Sony Xperia Z is quite good and helped it to a pretty good final endurance rating of 48h. Unsurprisingly, the Sony Xperia Z can last ages when the screen is not active (in-call and stand-by), but the display is quite power-hungry. Still, according to our result you will only need to charge your smartphone every 48 hours if you do an hour of each of the three tested activities each day, which is quite good.

The stand-by test was performed with Stamina Mode disabled, so if you enable it there is a chance you can squeeze a few more hours out of your Xperia Z. To find more about our testing procedures follow this link.
